Rove walks damn it....

How depressing. That scumbag Rove is apparently going to get away with treason. Now granted, I never really expected the outcome to be different but I can't deny all the endless rumors of impending indictment did raise my hopes some that the thug would he held accountable for endangering the nation for political purposes.

Christy at Fire Dog Lake has the most tempered analysis and speculates that Rove cut a deal to cooperate in the Libby trial. That seems likely to me. You don't get called before the grand jury five times because you have nothing to contribute to the story. And it remains to be seen if Cheney is the bigger fish Fitz is after so he threw Rove back into the cesspool in order to hook Dick.

One can only hope. At the moment, the only thing that's clear is it's not over yet. Not but a long shot.

First Coulter, and now...

I agree with you and Christy. Fitzgerald is going after the bigger fish. Careful what you pray for, Karl!

Eh, everyone knew this was always a possibility - that Rove would skate.

Perhaps now, like O.J. Simpson before him, Rove can now search for the "real leakers."

Good point about Rove being called before the grand jury five times. Fitzgerald doesn't stike me as the type to waste his time for nothing.

I honestly don't think Rove knew Valerie Plame was an operative. I think cheney and libby definately did. One thing that confuses me is that Novak apparently called the CIA and asked if it was okay to go with the story and they okayed it. not sure if i got that right. But then Novak blatantly exposed the brewster-jennigs front company just for no reason at all.

It stil amazes me that they'd do this. They must just have absolutely no respect for the CIA and total belief in themselves.

Lester, Rove knows everything. His encyclopedic memory is legendary. I personally think he saved his own sorry hide and rolled on Cheney but we'll have to wait and see.

Since the trial doesn't start until 07, it will be a long wait.
