Morals matter
Jeffrey Feldman at Frameshop has an interesting take on the latest "framing" of the war on both sides of the aisle. This is money graf.
How strangely ironic that the immorality of this administration is more apparent to those outside, than it still is to 37% of those inside our borders?
Feingold and Murtha--by calling for an end to the President's war policy, and a new beginning--a new policy--on Iraq, are standing up and leading the country by demanding moral certainty. A call for a new beginning is not a call to 'cut and run.' It is the recognition that only moral certainty will carry the nation through the problems in Iraq, and that only moral certainty will carry us to the goal of greater safety and security for America. It's a point I've been flogging for the last five years. Americans are so often unworldly and self-centered they don't appreciate how small this planet has become and they undervalue world opinion. They don't seem to understand how important a nation's reputation is to its standing as a "superpower."
