Heck, no one will take a fall. They will simply stonewall for a few days and then pick a far-right radical for the Supreme Court.
The inability of the press corps to focus on two things and chew gum will put this issue out of sight.
The only thing that will resurrect it would be an indictment, but I think the fix is in. No indictment.
