Crowded House

It's too beautiful to blog. I'm going out for a walk, but here's a new group that one of my on line friends turned me onto. I like them a lot.

I love this CD! It came out around '88. Sadly, a few years after breaking up, the drummer committed suicide.

The came out with a reunion of sorts, called "Time on Earth", in 2007.

Oh, Libby, Kevin is right, Crowded House is not new. Highly recommended: Listen here.

Especially Won't Give In.

Wasn't it you who turned the rest of us on to Rhapsody in the first place?

It's new to me. I stopped following current music about 1976. I'm always glad to find a newish group I like.

Wow, Crowded House keeps creeping into my week.

After reading this post, it occured to me that I didn't have their latest CD, so I downloaded it from Rhapsody.

I was surprised to hear a recording of the song "Silent House", which I had known from the Dixie Chick's version on their album "Taking the Long Way". It turns out that Crowded House singer/songwriter Neil Finn co-wrote the song with the Chicks.

It's a great song in both versions, and a touching story of a spouse dealing with losing a love to alzheimer's.

Here's the Crowded House version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqQSc6dwRTo
