There were two of these at one time in the past... one in Flagstaff, AZ and the other in Tucumcari, NM. Both are gone now, although I'm told the sign for the one in Tucumcari is still standing. Perhaps that is the origin of this photo?
No idea MB. Got it from Hunsicker on the twitter. But thinking I would like to drive what's left of Route 66 before it's all gone.
I've managed the west of the Mississippi part back when it was still mostly the old highway, so the only part I've never seen is between Chicago and St. Louis.
I remember a little cafe in Needles with a grumpy old man running the place. The food was edible and cheap but his service didn't earn him much of a tip. The sign by the highway proclaimed the place to have the "worst food in California", which is why we stopped.
These days much of the charm is gone and most of the old road is routed over Interstate highway, but it would still be worth the trip.
