Bombing at the Boston Marathon - Updated
[CBS News photo]
Breaking news so not going to say much as it will be well covered and there's always so much misinformation in the initial confusion. What's clear is two bombs went off at the Boston Marathon a little while ago. Hearing one of them was at Mile Marker 26 which had been dedicated to the Newtown victims. Trying not to jump to conclusions about the symbolism in that.
Clearly going to be a lot injuries. Local TV reporter reported to be sobbing at the scene. And this tweet seems legit, so some serious injuries.
@JackieBrunoNECN: I saw people's legs blown off. Horrific. Two explosions. Runners were coming in and saw unspeakable horror. Also this photo showing some serious blood on the sidewalk. Hearing reports there may still be unexploded devices in the area. Just horrible. A curse on the soulless perps who would ruin this tradition and hurt innocent people.
Update: Boston.com has a live blog going. Probably as reliable a source as you're going to get in the instant confusion. Reports just keep getting worse. Too horrible for words.
Update two: Been glued to the interwebs all afternoon. Only good news is, everyone I know personally who was likely to be there has checked in and is safe.

This is a horrible action. We all should hope that whoever did this gets apprehended. There is no laughing matter when lives are involved.
Heartbreaking. Hearing reports of multiple fatalities. Burned kids. Pure madness. Really hope they catch the perps too.
Somehow I have a feeling this is domestic, even though the talking head I listened to insisted he'd never heard of a bomb at a sporting event. Atlanta must have been before he was born. Still it could be anyone, a madman, someone trying to outdo someone else, a tax rebel -- they'll keep conjecturing all night.
Of course Obama didn't say "terror" and that's just terrible because the important thing is to be terrified, you know.
Hard to resist speculation. Something about the symbolism is screaming sovereign citizen to me. Or white supremacists. Eerie similarities to that MLK parade bombing that was thwarted out in Oregon or whatever state it was on the west coast.
Purposely avoided the internet mania as much as possible. The "mooslim" blamers are too predictable and so tiresome.
They have nothing to say, but that doesn't stop the endless saying of it and the endless loop video. They'll run it as long as people keep blindly watching hoping for more information that never comes.
As Roger Ailes once said, it's not about news, it's about ratings.
The race for ratings is killing journalism, and by extension destroying us all.
Amen again
