Semi-live blogging the DNC
I'm apparently posting DNC highlights at Detroit News and tweeting. My tweets should be showing up on the sidebar gizmo. And obviously, you can see the DetNews blog at the link below.

Change is the long game. Doing the impossible is the history of this nation. That is the story of this country. There is always something better out there if you're willing to work for it.
Ann Romney gave the best speech at the RNC. If anyone tops Michelle at the DNC I will be very surprised.
Actually I thought, leaving the content aside, Condi gave the best speech at RNC. FLOTUS just blew every politician and office holder off the face of the planet with her delivery. Michelle connects with the people so honestly. Exudes empathy.
Sometimes change seems a Sysiphian goal and people -- certainly American people have the constant idea that things used to be better, but nevertheless, change is bad.
"doing the impossible" is a self flattering thing to say and who is more narcissistic and less modest than Americans but really, to me it's just more of the endless bragging and the endless denial of the brutality; the mean, vicious avarice and the bigotry that infests our history like maggots in the pudding.
And by "this nation' do we mean the as yet undefeated confederacy? It used to be that when we had a common enemy we would find a common interest, but now, it seems we no longer do and the power seekers don't care who hates whom if they can use it to divide and conquer.
Divide and conquer is the standard M.O. for sure. Trouble is the wrong guys always win.
