Class Warfare

I'm finding it somewhat amusing that the same cons who accuse me daily of waging class warfare for suggesting that billionaires maybe should be required to pay a fair share of the tax revenue, will turn around and heartily condemn union workers for making too much money, all without a bare trace of self-awareness. And by amusing I mean, engendering sardonic laughter.

And speaking of the GOP's war on organized labor, the good news is my friend and internet crush, Ken Bazinet of the NY Daily News started his own blog. He posts the latest Koch inspired attack ad in Wisconsin, which -- shockingly -- blames Obama for the mess there.

Okay. So it's not so shocking, but it is interesting to see they adopted the strategy laid out by the Tea Party chief in Michigan of blaming the "union leaders" but avoiding any mention of the rank and file members. Guess they think the union folks are as easily deluded as the Tea Party tantrumists. I expect they'll find that's a bad bet.

And speaking of class warfare, the ultimate post this week is by my pal Octopus who lays out class warfare in NJ in a few striking words. And while you're there, scroll down for more great posts by the fine roster of writers, including my sister.

(Deleted my comment to make a grammar correction.) We've discussed this before, but indeed, there's a great barometer for seeing what crimes the wingnuts are about to commit; whatever they accuse the progressives of doing, they're in actuality doing it themselves. Class warfare from the right is an ongoing action, sometimes to their own loss. When consumers have no disposable income, the economy suffers, but don't hold your breath waiting for the right to blame itself for shortsighted destructive policies.

Indeed, we're in complete agreement Ruth. In review, every slogan and accusation the GOP made against the Dems, was exactly what THEY did and/or planned to do. If we had smart Dems in office, they could use that a predictive tool.
