Blaming John McCain
Sully posts on something I was thinking last night as well. While I'm continuing my embargo on reading about Sarah Palin, I do of course read the headlines and I see the McCain camp denying the allegations she makes in her book about the campaign. I tend to believe them. She started her stint in the national spotlight with lies and hatemongering and stuck to that deceitful script for the duration. The truth and facts don't serve her purposes.
The point Sully makes is that John McCain is responsible for this, or more accurately it's his irresponsible choice that unleashed this horror on us and no one holds him accountable for it. Thinking back, it was clear to me within 8 hours of googling that Sarah's ladder to success was built of the bloody bodies of the allies she backstabbed for her personal gain. Hard to believe McCain and his team could have been so incompetent as to miss such obvious clues. So why does the media still treat McCain, or anyone involved in that epic show of impossibly bad judgement, as credible commentators -- about anything?

Have you thought about how few would accept the vice presidential nomination from McAyn? I don't think he had a lot of choices of losers-to-be. But yeh, we could have happily done without the Palin clan.
I'm so sick of hearing about Palin. If everyone ignored her, she would go away, or least be consigned to the fundie talk circuit.
Part of this shit is the opportunity to make a politically ambitious woman look utterly and irredeemably ridiculous. We can get suckered into either defending her or piling on. Either way we lose. The only choice is to ignore her antics and address only things she says or does that appear to be meant substantively. And you are right: McCain remains a major impediment to getting anything done, and should be dealt with accordingly. Hearing his fake-concern voice is getting to be as obnoxious as hearing anything Lieberman says.
I don't think ignoring her will work any more than ignoring Hitler worked or ignoring the fundamentalists works. She's on the cover of Newsweek today and the net is full of speculation of a Palin Cheney ticket or her and Glenn Beck.
She's like cancer - you don't ignore it and if you don't deal with it severely and soon, you're dead.
Larkspur, I'm sick of the whole lot of those concern trolls.
Fogg, you're right of course that we can't completely ignore her, but there is a balance point where the attention helps more than hurts her. I think they're passing that point right now.
