Dueling campaign ads
By Libby
We all knew this would happen. McCain released a new ad using quotes from Democrats praising him, including of course the infamous remark by Hillary during the primaries that she and McCain were ready to lead and all Obama had was a speech.
However, Obama struck back immediately on this one and used the same theme to debunk McCain's claims. I doubt either one will get much attention. The press seems preoccupied with the energy ads, but it's good to see that Obama's rapid response team is working so well. Now they just to have gear up to fight back a little harder.
As Chuck Schumer said today, "I would answer back hard. What do you mean [Obama's] not one of us? It's John McCain who wears $500 shoes, has six houses, and comes from one of the richest families in his state. It's Barack Obama who climbed up the hard way, and that's why he wants middle-class tax cuts and better schools for our kids."
