KLo: Smith is not a fabulist

The ongoing meltdown at NRO over the tanking of The Tank, is becoming quite a blog drama. KLo is just crumbling under the pressure. Maybe it's just my mood, but this post struck me as laugh out loud funny.
Shorter: When a 20 something active duty soldier makes up a mildly distressing, but not entirely implausible, war story about a few soldiers, it's a moral imperative for a months long lynch mob. When a beefheaded cowboy on my paid staff makes up shit out of the whole cloth about thousands of armed terrorists that don't exist, it's just a teeny, tiny mistake and everybody should STFU.
This is the National Review, mind you. One of the most influential neo-con 'news' sites out there. Goddess forbid they should vet their sources. If you want the background, check out Kevin, P O'Neill, Glenn's elegant takedown and Sully who has the latest twists in the NRO's tortured explanations.
