Cheap talk

By Libby

Glenn Greewald gets the quote of the day.
Yet the "debate" taking place in the Beltway regarding Iraq could not be any further removed from the views most Americans hold, and the war-continuing actions of our political class over the next several weeks will be -- yet again -- in complete defiance of the pervasive belief in this country that it is long past time to end the war.

Indeed. The failed surge is really a success. Anguished Democrats "just don't have the votes" so the only response is to roll over dutifully playing dead while the troops come home in body bags. Oh, and Iran might build a nuke someday in the next 20 years, so we better bomb the bejebus out of those suckers right away. Collateral damage? Oh just a necessary evil of war, little girl.

I am so tired of living in this Fellini film. Somebody please make it stop.

I was reading at armchair general, a military blog, that there is beef between admireal fallon or whatever he is and petraous because fallon has the "radical" notion of reducing our troops by 3/4 by 2010. that's "radical". What's conservative 2018? fuck these idiots. that's all the difference there is in the beltway. 3 more years in iraq is radically anti war.

I've seen that too Lester. It's pretty big that a superior officer would call Saint Pet an idiot. Yet the MSM has ignored it almost.
