Cracked Kristol

It's hardly worth picking through the sludge that issues from the cesspool posing as grey matter that resides in what we laughingly refer to around here as Kristol's brain. Short version of America's oldest arrested adolescent's wet dream is: Nyah, nyah - made you blink.

Steve Benen does a longer, more politic post and wisely notes,

It takes a special kind of worldview that leads a person to look at one discouraging development after another, and conclude, "Finally, everything's going my way!"

And "D" at LGM runs us down memory lane to some of Willy's more memorable kool-aid induced visions and sums up what is most irritating about Bush's favorite yes-boy.

The issue here is not so much that Kristol has been utterly wrong about everything he's advised or predicted about Iraq since the late 1990s; the greater obscenity is that everything Kristol has written about Iraq has been transparently subordinated to the cause of shielding the Bush administration from any kind of accountability for the past.

That about nails it. But even if you're as sick of crackpot Kristol and I am and don't really care what he says anymore, go to "D's" post and scroll down for this.

No one knows, of course, what Petraeus' testimony might reveal, but I'm pretty sure we can guess what the staff meeting at the Standard is going to look like that day:
