The civility of wingers

By Libby

It appears my stalker is making good on his threatened smear campaign. Check out the comments at Pete's Center of Attention post.

As Insty might say, heh.

I think Douglas is desperate to get in on the sinking neo con ship and is trying to prove himself by picking on a girl over the interenet, which i imagine would impress krisol and co quite a bit.

Who knows what he's thinking Lester. It seems a little silly to me. Not to mention his obsession with me is getting a little creepy.

I'm surprised he didn't call you a 'bull dyke' or something equally nonsensical.

Glen Greenwald had an interesting column recently on how the right persistently, and successfully, has characterized all left-leaning men as pansies or 'girly-men' and all left-leaning women as 'militant feminists'. Perhaps we need some unhinged characterizations of our own.

Kvatch, they are the living unhinged. The donald in any event is inconsequential. He can smear away. My record speaks for itself and his over the top whining is only making him look nutty.

You may (or may not) be happy to know that, whatever the Burkean man posted over at TMV, it's gone now, though there is a reply from Pete explaining why you were listed (in effect saying that, you (or whomever) may be a deeply partisan, un-American bull dyke, (or a deeply partisan, hyper-jingoistic "I'm not Gay... Really!!" closet case) but the post he was highlighting offered a more moderate view than the usual wingnut v moonbat bicker, and was therefore worthy of inclusion on his list, whatever some (or one) might think.

I did see that repsac but thanks for the heads up. I didn't take Pete's explanation quite so harshly. I thought he was quite correct and civilized about it.

It's not a secret that my politics lean left. I have a lot of moderate positions but I sometimes veer pretty sharply left. I would say the same thing about him, except that he leans right.

He is fact is my idea of a reasonable right writer. He also has a blog Central Sanity that You would be much better off reading him than Donald. I'd also recommend James Joyner at Outside the Beltway, who I often disagree with but has a pragmatic view from the Libertarian right.

I'm sorry... You misunderstand... I also thought he was both correct and civilized. And I wasn't intending to suggest that he (or I) think you're a deeply partisan, un-American bull dyke... (In fact, the only reason I used the bull dyke bit at all was that I saw it in Kvatch's comment, & pilfered it.)

What I was trying to say was that Pete's criteria for choosing posts for that feature doesn't take the overall partisanship of the poster (or lack of it) into account, as long as the specific post he's highlighting does meet that more centrist--or outside the usual partisan box--criteria he does look for.

As far as reading Central Sanity & TMV, I added both to my reader last night.
